A Passion for Public Service: Meet Clayton's Mayor ~ Jody Mcleod​Did you know that Clayton's mayor, Jody McLeod, has been serving the community for decades? Mayor McLeod's dedication to the town is clear, with a long history of public service that includes serving as a councilmember and mayor pro team before becoming mayor in 2003. His current term expires in 2027.​Beyond his work as mayor, Jody is deeply involved in a variety of civic activities. He's been a key player in local and state organizations, including the Johnston County Economic Development Commission and the N.C. League of Municipalities. Since December 2023, Ruth has been a dedicated member of the Clayton Town Council, with her current term running through 2027. She brings a wealth of experience to the table, including 12 years as a Vice President and General Manager of a Construction and Development company, and she's also served as a substitute teacher.Currently, in addition to her council duties, she's a full-time Group Benefit Specialist with LegalShield Business Solutions.Ruth is deeply involved in our community as a Clayton Rotary Club Rotarian and through Clayton Chamber of Commerce and @ Clayton Women In Networking (WIN) group.
